Light does not filter through it easily if the material is of a woven fabric than wooden slats. but both are very good for heat reduction. Its light filtering properties can be customised to be blackout blinds for complete privacy and light blocking.

Roller blinds are minimalistic in style and design. It is popular in commercial spaces like offices, but are also becoming more popular in homes because of its low maintenance and compact design.

• Maintenance

Roller blinds are the easiest to maintain compared to other types of blinds or curtains, if the material chosen is just fabric. The material is made of thicker woven fabric in one piece so there are no slats or delicate curtain fabric to contend with, and they are also waterproof.

• Insulation

As roller blinds are stiffer, they do not provide much sound insulation against a noisy environment. However, they’re very good for keeping heat out, which can translate to energy-saving.

• Size Constraints

Roller blinds usually have a few standard sizes, so to fit a large window may take several of them.
